Quick Survey

Original question:

Do you think that Starbucks is expensive?
- What a question. I tag Glacius to answer this. =P

My answer: Yes. The reason varies, actually. Economically and through marketing's point of view, the reason why Starbucks' branding in the States is very strong is because it's one of the cheapest coffee places around. Not San Francisco Coffee, or Coffee Bean, or any other places, but consider it over the states as Crap Coffee, where things are extremely cheap.

But that's the thing. It's cheap because the US Dollar is strong in its own value, and overall, Starbucks originated from Seattle. Definitely it's cheap there.

Whereas, when they brought it in Malaysia, and due to its variety in coffee beans (And the new seasonal coffee beans - Rwanda.. Stock just came in last night! Wheee), including of the taxes, including of the blind taxes, currency changes, etc...

Starbucks is considered expensive, only here in Malaysia.

But after joining with Starbucks, I realised that nearly puked while drinking Kopi Ais in a coffee stall because the coffee taste was too strong. In Starbucks, the coffee beans they use isn't Robusta, but Arabica. Where the taste is less stronger, but there's more flavour. And that's when the art of coffee tasting comes into play..

There you go, Ning. Lol.
